What is Beurre d'Or? Beurre d'Or is a made-to-order jewelry brand founded in 2025 by me, Elena, born from a journey that began in Sri Lanka and found its home in Portugal. Every piece is designed by me and handcrafted in close collaboration with a trusted local Portuguese atelier, with a focus on conscious consumption and slow craft — created only when you choose it.
Where are your pieces made? Every piece is handmade in Portugal in close collaboration with a trusted local atelier. By producing only what is ordered, I ensure no resources are wasted and every detail is given the care it deserves.
What materials do you use? We work with 925 sterling silver and 18k gold vermeil as our core materials. We also offer solid gold (9k, 14k, or 18k) upon request. Please contact me at info@beurre-dor.com for custom solid gold enquiries.
Orders & Production
How long does it take to receive my order? All our pieces are made-to-order and handcrafted especially for you. Please allow 4-5 weeks for production before dispatch. Once shipped, delivery takes 3-5 business days within Portugal and 5-8 business days within Europe.
Can I change or cancel my order after placing it? Please contact me as soon as possible at info@beurre-dor.com if you need to make any changes. Once production has begun I am unable to make changes or cancellations, so please review your order carefully before confirming.
Materials & Sizing
What is gold vermeil? Gold vermeil (pronounced ver-may) is a thick layer of 18k gold plated over a solid 925 sterling silver base. It offers the look and warmth of solid gold at a more accessible price point. Visit our Gold Vermeil Care Guide to learn more.
What is 925 sterling silver? 925 sterling silver is a timeless precious metal composed of 92.5% pure silver. It is durable, classic, and with proper care will last a lifetime. Visit our Sterling Silver Care Guide to learn more.
How do I find my ring size? Ring sizes can vary between brands and countries. We use European sizing (e.g. 43, 44, 45…). If you are unsure of your size, we recommend visiting a local jeweler to get measured, or using the ring size guide.
Do you offer ring resizing? As our pieces are made-to-order, we recommend double checking your size before ordering. If you receive your ring and the fit is not right, please contact us at info@beurre-dor.com and we will assess each case individually.
Shipping & Returns
Where do you ship to? I currently ship within Europe. Visit the Shipping & Delivery page for full details on rates and delivery times.
Is shipping free? I offer free shipping on orders over €150 within the EU.
What is your return policy? As all our pieces are made-to-order they are exempt from the standard 14-day right of withdrawal under Portuguese and EU law.
